as a reference to determine how many scholarships are available in

+ Corey Wilson was seriously injured in February 09 and will be placed on an academic scholarship as one comes available.
Analysis
When
asking yourself how many scholarship spots are available in a class,
look at the number of expected graduating players, and also take
into account the number of 'open scholarships'. That will give you a close estimate.
As NCAA rules prohibit a team from having more than 85 scholarship players
on their roster once fall practice starts, the 'total' above is subtracted from '85' to yield the 'open' number.
The
exact number of scholarship spots available is difficult to determine
as upcoming transfers, scholarships awarded to walk-ons
and career ending injury issues alter the total, and will affect the
amount of
players OU may sign in a class.
