I Can Not Re-Register My Scout Name!

Over 95% of our REGISTRATION problems are due to people inputing 'mis- matched' data. By that we mean that you are registering under your old Scout User Name and your current e-mail.

Why that does NOT work? We imported user data from Scout just as you had it in your account. If you did not update your e-Mail, your old one was still in their system. So, when you try to register here with a different combination, the data does not match and you get a message saying: "This name, or e-Mail is already in use." It is, because it's reserved for YOU!

You have TWO choices: 1. Register with the Scout data that we have on file for you.
'OK' How do I find that? > > > Log on at Scout (SoonersIllustrated.com).
Above the Basketball tab on the Front Page you'll see: "WELCOME (e-Mail) and (User name)."

This is the e-Mail and User Name we have on record for you. Use this exact combination to register here, (we can change your e-mail later or leave it).




2. Create a NEW Identity:

You can register using a completely NEW user Name and a Different e-Mail than the ones shown on Scout. (Use a fictitious e-Mail if you have to). However, if you try to use either the same NAME or e-Mail shown on Scout you'll continually be rejected - as your data was possibly corrupted when we ported it over.

This is NO BIG DEAL. Just register under a new name. We can restore your old name back to you after you're here.

And yes, if you are a subscriber, we'll credit your time back, even if you change your name. You will not lose any subscription time.


Why Must I Cancel Scout Now?

Why Should I Cancel 'Scout' NOW if I still Have Time Left?

You must CANCEL the automated billing or you'll be re-billed on the renewal date. Scout tells people to NOT cancel because they know most people forget until they have been re-billed. (There are no refunds).

When you CANCEL - you do not eliminate access privileges to the site, but you do STOP the automatic re-billing of your credit card.


What If I Just Leave Scout and Don't Cancel?

We can guarantee you that Scout will bill you on your renewal date, whether you or a monthy or annual member. It's an automated process.  You must cancel if you do not want to be billed.


Can OU Insider Cancel my Scout Subscription and Transfer it to the NEW OU Insider?

No. We'd have done that if we could. The only person allowed to cancel is the customer. When we say we'll 'transfer your subscription,' that means we will credit you all of your remaining time; (for subcriptions purchased before June 1, 2007).

How can Scout Auto-Renew me without my permission?

Their terms of service says that they can, unless you STOP (i.e. CANCEL), the process, Here's the language from Scout:

Your Subscription will be automatically renewed and your credit card account will be charged per the billing cycle of your subscription (e.g.Monthly, 3-Month, 6-Month, Annual), unless you cancel the subscription prior to the renewal date. You may review your account and subscriptions by clicking the My Account link and may cancel your subscriptions by contacting us during business hours via telephone at 1-888-979-0979 as described by the MySubscriptions page.



What About Post Counts?
"Hey, where's my Post Count?"

We know Post Counts are important to some people and we are trying to re-construct them and the associated titles* from the old OU Insider (Scout).

Post Counts: We may just do it for members as they all must be re-constructed by hand. And to do it, we'd have to have each member go over to Scout and to check their last post count, (or make a new one), and then report that number here.

Join Date:  We do have 'join dates' in our records as this date is not a variable.

If Post Counts are not possible to restore, we will substitute the date you first came on OU Insider -- as that's a truer picture of a users real status here. Only one in 55 visitors on any given day actually posts. (Some of our best members have less that 10 posts over 7 years).

Please understand that this project will take time.

"Titles: "Freshman; Sophomore; Junior; etc."
