With their loss to A&M Thursday night in College Station, the Sooners will be the No. 5 seed in next week's Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City.
Last Saturday, Sherri Coale's Oklahoma basketball team was just one game out of first place in the Big 12 regular season standings. But after Thursday night's disappointing 73-59 loss to Texas A&M in College Station, Coale's Sooners find themselves as the No. 5 seed when the conference tournament kicks off next Wednesday in Kansas City.
Courtney Paris led the way for Oklahoma extending her double-double streak to 89 games with 27 points and 11 rebounds, but the Sooners shot just 34.3 percent (23-67) from the field and 4-for-19 from 3-point range. They were also outrebounded 48-42.
With the loss, OU finishes the regular season 21-7 overall and 11-5 in Big 12 play. They will play 12th-seeded Missouri in the first round of the conference tournament on Wednesday in Kansas City. Should they win, they will play top-seeded Kansas State in the quarterfinals.
